Effective Self-Help now has flashcards!

Date

We've now begun to add flashcards to our articles thanks to the help of the wonderful team at ThoughtSaver. We hope that these will provide an additional, valuable route to internalising and applying the effective interventions we recommend.

Effective Self-Help now has flashcards – click the button below to try them out.

Why flashcards?

Flashcards are a simple and effective way of practicing spaced repetition and active recall when trying to learn new information. We’ll be publishing a report on meta-learning strategies in the coming weeks that includes an evaluation of both of these techniques.

From our preliminary research, these techniques appear particularly effective for retaining information. Flashcards offer a practical, easy-to-learn means of putting these strategies to use.

We recommend this article by 80,000 Hours for more information on the promise of spaced repetition. If you’d like to read our report on learning strategies once it’s published, you can sign up to our monthly newsletter here and be notified once it’s complete.
